Just watched THE STING that I bought the other day, along with JAWS.

Still a great movie, but I was not as impressed with the restoration.

While JAWS looked pristine, The Sting still has a "aged" quality to it, the colours and skin tones seemed off to me, and the picture quality looked a bit murky in a couple of shots. Definitely not Universal's best restoration in my opinion. But none of that really detracted from being a great picture, just not sure if it was worth buying the Blu-ray.

Only judging from the images seen here, id defenately say the blu was worth it, when compared to the dvd releases. Not every film is gonna look silky smooth, and so much the better IMO. You lucky buggar, Bob. ;)

Actually a lot of these recent Universal 100th Blu-ray releases are very inexpensive. While with Jaws I did pay full price, 20 bucks, The Sting was 10 bucks. Most of the other releases, the basic blu-rays were around 10 bucks too -- Earthquake, Blues Brothers, American Graffiti, Field of Dreams, etc... they are well worth the investment and affordable to the average movie collector.

Superman collection on BD

Damn you l8wrtr! :p You put the idea in my head. Just purchased the Superman bluray set... and also came home with bluray copies of Kill Bill 1&2, Pans Labyrinth, Dead Poets Society, Fight Club and Blade Runner (The Final Cut).

Sigh. Self control much?

Traded in my PS2 and 8 games at a pawn shop for the following DVD's:

- Sugar & Spice
- Friday (theatrical cut)
- Kath & Kim: Season 1 (US)(still factory sealed with original store price)
- Star Wars: Episode II: Attack Of The Clones
- Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
- Clerks II
- Broken Flowers
- Undercover Brother
- Howard Stern's Private Parts
- Night Of The Living Dead (1990)

I already have Clerks II, but it's the Full Screen version. Besides wanting the Widescreen version for the obvious reason, I've also been thinking of creating an Extended Edition of the movie.

I hear the US version of Kath and Kim is pretty horrible... you should check out the original, it was pretty funny back in the day

Yeah, I've been thinking about it ever since I finished my Zack & Miri edit. I only had the fullscreen version, which my dad gave me after watching it and finding it stupid. Something tells me that the donkey show had something to do with him not liking it. I didn't feel like going out and paying full price for another copy just so I could potentially edit it, so I decided to wait until the price went down quite a bit. It was basically free today, since the PS2 and games I traded in didn't cost me anything. My buddy gave them to me when the PS3 came out and it's been sitting in a box under my bed for like 3 years or so now.

If I do make an extended edition, which I'd love to do, it won't be for a while. As you can probably tell by my signature my table's already kinda full.

I never saw the original, only bits and pieces, but it was free, still factory sealed, and I like Molly Shannon and Selma Blair. Hopefully it won't be that bad. But then again it only lasted one season so who knows.

Green Zone and Man On A Ledge, both on Blu Ray. Green Zone I've seen parts of before, and it was great what I saw, but Man On A Ledge I've wanted to watch for a while, so I thought why not?

I've only seen the first one, and that was like 10 years ago. I seem to remember enjoying it though so I decided, what the hell. You get the first one and two of the 4 sequels for 5$. Even if I don't like them it's still a pretty good deal.
