Why is this in the "Fanedit News" category with external site articles instead of "New True Fanedit" category where all the other new releases are posted?

Because it is not released yet.
This is a news telling people to get ready to get the edit on FRIDAY THE 13TH if they want.
Damn. Is it so difficult to understand?
 
It is a little confusing, I won't lie. :)

Here's what it comes down to, RollWave. The New True Fanedit tag is used when something has been released on IFDB. Since that hasn't happened yet it was just Fanedit News.
