Article: Harmy Hired By UltraFlix for 4k Conversions

Pretty cool. Congrats! :)

That is beyond awesome. Talk about deserved. Now Ady just needs to get picked up by LFL (but only after he finishes HD revisted versions of the OT)

that's fantastic! give huge credibility to this hobby.

Awesome news. Your hard work had an award you didn't even see coming :)

Does this mean that 4K theatrical releases of the OT will be streamed with a service?! I sure as hell hope so!

No it doesn't, why would it mean that? It means Harmy got a job in real life for doing excellent work on a hobby for years.

Here's an article on what Ultraflix is all about, namely they want to be better than Netflix and Amazon at 4k streaming and they're attempting to acquire exclusive rights to some films by offering studios to let them create 4k transfers. http://www.techhive.com/article/286...-become-the-netflix-of-the-4k-generation.html

Harmy's work speaks for itself but just because he's worked on the Star Wars films doesn't mean this company has made any deal with Disney or Fox or whoever owns the distribution rights on the original trilogy. His upscales are also at 720p, a far cry from 4k.

Could it possibly inch closer toward getting 4k upscales of old Star Wars films? Maybe, tangentially, but that's not what the news is about.

Just got done reading the related articles. Bravo Harmy!!! :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

Yeah it is really cool that he can do what he loves for a living. I wish that for anybody. And it is also just as cool that fanedits are giving more creeds. =) Rock on dude! Who is up next ;)
