my opinion of alien 3 has always been that it's a good film but not a very good alien sequel. being a huge fan of aliens it's a disappointment that hicks and newt are killed off as quickly as they are. ultimately the series didn't feel like it moved forward with this instalment but rather took a step back. this edit takes certain elements from both the theatrical and assemble cuts and mixes them very well, however it does suffer from the audio being out of sync. it's a real shame just as i was getting into the edit around the 35min mark the problem occurs and while i watched it till the end my enjoyment towards the edit dropped. it's an error i feel that should have been stopped and fixed by the editor as the visual side of things is extremely well done. overall it's worth a look and works well as an alternative to alien 3
