Here's my newest Letterbox'd challenge: 5 Directors, 5 Films - Volume IV

A few years back I saw a bunch of Letterboxers doing this challenge. The concept is simple; pick 5 directors and then pick 5 films from each that you've never seen. I try to choose a variety of filmmakers and genres and time periods, mixing up the classics with the contemporaries. I usually wrote reviews for each film but I burned myself out on Volume III, this time around I'm not going to rush through the list so that I can write decent enough reviews for each.

That's wonderful! I'm glad that you're hopping on board the 5x5 train :D. Excellent choices, I especially like your workaround for the double Fritz Lang films. I've seen half of these; all the Del Toro and Argentos, some of the Romeros and one Powell. Of what I've seen there, I personally liked "The Thief of Bagdad" and "Pan's Labyrinth" the best.

I also like that you're going for "completing the sets" on some of these, something I like to do as well (see: Directors Whose Entire Filmography I've Seen).

A few simple reasons. Firstly, I'm addicted to making Director Ranking lists on Letterbox'd. I just watched Bohemian Rhapsody, which finished Singer's filmography for me. He's directed 10 movies, which is usually my minimum requirement for making a Ranking list. I shared it here because why not.
