In fact, it’s actually impossible to buy an official copy of Star Wars as it was first released. Lucas doesn’t want you to see that version.


That is not true. It is possible to get officially the theatrical version on dvd:

The only problem is it isn't a well restored version and not anarmophic... And it isn't available on bluray.
 
Technically that disc is out of print. I think that's what they meant.
