I really like Return of the Jedi, but in terms of ending a saga, it's really disappointing. The story is flat and tensionless. The special editions added more nonsense to an already weak entry to the saga.I presume the source for this edit was the 2004 Special Edition DVD + 2006 GOUT DVD (for replacing SE nonsense), so the quality isn't the best. Same goes for the editing. It's not bad, but in some places it feels choppy. Especially in Tatooine where Luke senses his friends. Still a minor problem though, it doesn't hurt the experience. The thing that makes this edit shine though is the narrative. MAN, it's PERFECT. THIS narrative is the narrative that SHOULD have been in the original. It's that good! I kinda miss the Victory Celebration, but no points taken off because the new ending is great too. Plus since Episode VII is coming that scene would be unnecessary. Still the main saga is still IV-V-II-III-VI (Machete Order). Anyway, I'm going off topic here. The other edit that people call PERFECT is Q2's edit. Personally, I think Q2's edit is for purists and for people who likes the movie as it is. But for me, THIS is the best ROTJ edit, and it's my go-to ROTJ.
