• Most new users don't bother reading our rules. Here's the one that is ignored almost immediately upon signup: DO NOT ASK FOR FANEDIT LINKS PUBLICLY. First, read the FAQ. Seriously. What you want is there. You can also send a message to the editor. If that doesn't work THEN post in the Trade & Request forum. Anywhere else and it will be deleted and an infraction will be issued.
  • If this is your first time here please read our FAQ and Rules pages. They have some useful information that will get us all off on the right foot, especially our Own the Source rule. If you do not understand any of these rules send a private message to one of our staff for further details.

A short guide how to use Usenet:
downloading:
1. sign up with a news server
I am using http://www.news.astraweb.com/, because it offers this superb 180GB for 25$ deal, which allows me to spend money one time and then have a mass of traffic ready when i need it. No monthly subscription cost.
2. install and configure an agent
an agent can read nzb files and do all teh downloads for you. It like jdownloader for files. I am using grabit. The configuration is described at your news server and is really easy.
3. load an nzb or find links on the thousands of usenet pages or on the search engines: http://www.binsearch.info/ or http://www.newzleech.com/

the download speed is as quick as your internet connection. Beware that grabit uses a lot of cpu power.

uploading:
all you need to know:
http://www.newzleech.com/ (a great working guide that is detailed and simple. Follow it step by step. Don't question it. thanks for showing this to me, paul).

Thanks, throw. I've been meaning to get back on the newsgroups for a while now. It's been a long time, so i'm kinda rusty at it. This helps.

And of course, thanks to The Maker.

Any up to date links similar to those originally posted? Newzleech is down and I'm after a good guide to follow. Got myself a newsdemon account and I'm looking to find the most headache free of uploading.
