RIP Earl Hyman, voice of Pantho in the Thundercats.

Thought this was a fitting video for this week.

Most of you probably didn't know Johnny Hallyday (aka Jean-Philippe smet).

he died last week at age 74.
He was what people could call "the french Elvis", but he was more than a gimmick or more than an american rocker wannabe.
He really was a GREAT voice, he also played in several movies. (including Détective, by Jean-Luc Godard)

700 bikers escorting his coffin along the Champs-Elysées, one million people in the streets of Paris to say goodbye to him last week end.  President Macron's eulogy, his friend Jean Reno and many others known and unknown paying tribute to him...
He was the most loved personality in France.

Honestly I rarely have wet eyes when "known people" die (last time was for Carrie Fisher though...) but I still can't believe that guy is dead.
It almost makes me want to make a musical fanedit with his songs.

Horrible.

I still remember playing Everybody Else is Doing It over and over again while working a summer internship in college.  I don't have all their stuff but looking at their discography I have 5 of their 7 albums.  Roses was surprisingly good for an album made some 10-11 years after the previous one.

Will be listening today for sure.

^ I thought Roses was surprisingly great, especially for the long absence between material.

I saw The Cranberries in 2012 in my home town in France.
I always loved her voice.
Another sound of my youth that goes away.

He couldn't live forever but he gave it a good go. Top Fall track:

Author, Ursula K. Le Guin died on the 22nd of this month at the age of 88.

Wrote some excellent works of science fiction and fantasy, such as the Earthsea books and The Lathe of Heaven.

A ripe age to live to, but still sad to see her go.
