Last DVD, Blu-Ray, UHD or Digital you purchased?

I've never seen American Gothic, never even heard of it before last week, but I like Gary Cole and '90s horror, so I figured I'd take a chance on it. Hope I enjoy it.

I remember that show being amazing and was sad to see it cancelled. Hope it holds up after 25 years.

I've seen some terrible DVD covers in my time but still wow, that one is impressive.

I didn't have Dunkirk or The Prestige in my collection for a while and I also wanted to upgrade my Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, and Interstellar to 4K so I went hunting for this. Very hard to find in the US now, but I was able to get this UK region free version from Zavvi. I order it the day before yesterday and it was delivered today from Liverpool.

Well for everyone wanting an expansion to the 007 unofficial series, I just picked this up on Amazon.

^ It's great that the cover art is paying homage to the classic Donkey Kong mode from the N64 GoldenEye game.

Manga! Wow, I have a serious library of their VHS tapes somewhere, lol. Anime is notorious for having pretty weak discs, anything interesting on this one?  (Throw your thoughts in an idea thread later if you thinks it's fan-editable.)

It's the only release available where I am - but I think blu-ray discs are typically a lot better than some of the old DVDs. Many of them were just dreadfullly put together. There are actually some really nice HD releases being put out for some though, like the ones from AllTheAnime.

This copy has an interview with Oshi, a featurette on sound design and animation, and "animation research for The Sky Crawlers" - whatever that might look like. Some trailers as well - classic.

And will do!

I may have impulsively bought the 5 disc Blade Runner set on HD DVD a few days ago. It's @"SilverWook"'s fault for pointing out its existence.

I also impulsively bid on Shout Factory's Buckaroo Banzai collectors edition blurays. I totally forgot about it until now. The auction ends in 4 hours and I'm currently winning.

HD DVD... as in, not blu-ray, but HD DVD? The obsolete format?

Yes, HD DVD. I bought an HD DVD Player a few months ago. Currently the only movies I have for it are Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead and The Departed.

That's tempting. My 6 copies of Blade Runner aren't enough.

Is there any significant advantage/difference with HD DVD over blu-ray? Or is it just a collectable type thing?

No advantage, other than them being pretty cheap nowadays. It's definitely more of a collectable thing. I just thought it would be funny to collect an obsolete format.

I was going to buy the digital version of this extended cut, but it ended up being about half the price to just buy it from the UK and have it shipped over the waters. I've always been curious to see if I could somehow make it into a mission impossible.

Found these both for super cheap and said why not...Perhaps the lack of suspense and action in the first will make up for the over the top action I hear is in the second?

After a few attempts I actually watched this movie the whole way through and Bing Bong's character made me finally go out and get this.

The aspect ratio of the image here made me think for a moment you'd picked up a VHS copy of Gemini Man.  Now that's a collectible!

$20 on Amazon. I've heard good things about it and I need something new to watch.

I hope you enjoy it, I thoroughly did. Definitely a far better adaptation that the Golden Compass file although some liberties were taken.
