I would agree with asterixsmeagol, if I was a fan of the prequel trilogy, or a more dedicated Star Wars fan in general, Yours would rank at the top or equal with one other. And I agree that Pulp Empire is genius. I really like fanedits that can add a new aspect to what is already there. Perhaps shine a brighter light on a facet that I may not have considered. Two Tales does that. You see the characters in a brighter light. I also like when an editor can take hours of footage and condense it down to a few rocket speed hours without losing the story. Northwest Passage and Mercedes Killer do that.
This is threatening to highjack the thread but I absolutely agree on those that can craft coherent narratives from seasons of an episodic show. Northwest Passage is absolutely brilliant in that regard. I have lots of edits to catch up on though having been in a cave for a few years.

In no real order except for the first two being my all-time favorites. The first is the reason I got into fanedits.

Northwest Passage by Q2

If you had told me it was possible, I would not have believed you. Amazing!

Split Unbreakable Glass by Wraith
This is a remarkable achievement in narrative restructuring. After repeated viewings, I'm still blown away by the technical prowess that was involved in creating this amazing edit. I learn some new connection within the multiple layers interweaving multiple stories each time I watch it. Everyone who truly appreciates editing needs to see this. A masterpiece.

Dune Alternative Edition Redux by Spicediver
Is there any better example of saving a movie by means of a fanedit?

Blade Runner Penultimate by TM2YC
The definitive version of one of my three favorite movies.

The Mercedes Killer by Maniac
An amazing achievement. A series that made me fall asleep made into a movie that blew my mind. VERY VERY twisted and disturbing. A master of his craft.

Harmys Despecialized Editions
Obvious reasons.

Adywan's Revisited Versions
I fell in love with IV & V all over again.

Game of Thrones Edits by Andreas
An amazing mash-up of two great fantasy series and condensed down to a bearable length, as well. The first is a masterpiece in editing.

Night of Samhain By Last Survivor
Another amazing achievement in editing and structuring. Those two movies shouldn't have worked together but in his hands they became an awesome edit.

The Ridiculous Menace by TV's Frink
Took me forever to get it. Still haven't seen the second one. Two words...freaking hilarious. Totally appeals to my weird sense of humor. I laughed uncontrollably. Every Star Wars fan needs to see it.

Paradise by jobwillins
Another masterpiece in which two movies were edited together to take the story arc in a slightly different direction.

Should be at the top of anyone's list:

Hal 9000 everything?
Dude has serious vision. Always quality edits.

jjpotter Harry Potter Edits
Extended editions done almost perfect.

And the rare impossible to find edit:

I saw it once a long time ago and lost it in a computer crash.

Red Dragon Manhunter Edition by CBB (boone)

The definitive version of Red Dragon. The way it should have been released.
Im blushing….thanks.

Apart from Harmy and Adywan (top 5 slots)… especially Harmy’s full disc set with a million extras, audio stream and more, Pulp Empire for me…and War of the Stars..
6. The Babylon Project by https://forums.fanedit.org/members/subjectzero.7732/ Sheer bloody minded stamina genius. Should be on school curricula!
7. Kerr’s Lord of the Rings 6 Pack
8. Heavens Gate The Butchers Cut & 2nd Directors Cut TM2YC
9. A Digital Man’s Blade Runner DVD
10. Ben Hur by Ranger 613… by stripping out all the religious thread, I realised what a great GREAT actor Heston was. I always like him, but this was a revelation! Highly recommended.

I will / must watch Northwest Passage

Northwest Passage has to be one of the best TV-to-Movie edits of all time. It does not feels like 5 hours at all.
I still consider it the best fanedit of all time. @Q2 made fanediting history with that. But that may be subjective. I'm much more of a Twin Peaks fan than I ever will be a Star Wars, Hobbit, or Harry Potter fan. That knocks a lot of contenders out of the top spot.

That being said, i do enjoy and give major respect to excellent edits that are awesome in their own right.

SplitUnbreakableGlass is such an edit. The narrative restructuring and sublime editing that went into that is unbelievable. I didn't even care for the movies its based on, but I love it. @Wraith really went all out.

American Gangster Two Tales is another. I do like gangster movies...but @L8wrtr took a really good movie and restructured it into an amazing movie that has a completely more enjoyable vibe.

Another worthy of mention is @spence's latest revision. Mission Impossible 2. I have a love/hate relationship with that series of movies. My first complaint is Tom Cruise. He tries too hard to be every hero. I liked all of the movies to some degree, but I loved the third...not because of Cruise, but because of Phillip Seymour Hoffman (huge loss 😭). However, in the workprint I watched, Spence has changed the music and a few other things that have made it tremendously better. It truly feels like one of the better Bond movies now.

That's just a few examples...

Oh...and The upcoming fanedit from @thebutcher Halloween Returns...

It's awesome! Scariest/creepiest Halloween movie or edit that I've seen since I saw the original 1978 classic as a kid. Thats saying something...because I was a kid. Halloween fans better hope that gets approved or he starts sharing it again. If not...you are missing out.

I have a quite dense list, 100+ favorite edits so it would be a ENORMOUS list to cover. All of these I have/will have on my collection.

100% backed-up 👍
On DVD alas, the film collector woes forced me to make a separate space in my DVD collection only for fanedits.
Not only that but also in 2 hard drives containing the same edits and on cloud storage too.

geez...wish I had done that. I wouldn't be looking for so many older edits.

I must have Red Dragon Manhunter by CBB or I will destroy my garage looking for that old hard drive...

For me, what I would consider the best edits are the ones that become my go-to version of that movie. The edits I return to often and watch again and again, instead of the official version.

When I look at my collection, the edits that meet that criteria are, more often than not, edited by @TM2YC . LOL There have been many fine edits through the years that I have enjoyed watching. But when it comes to the edits that have outright permanently replaced the original version for me, they are:

-Star Trek: Vengeance
-Man of Steel: A Symbol of Hope
-Star Wars Rogue One: Where Rebels Dare
-Star Trek: Reunion
-Ghostbusters III
-THX-1138: The Hybrid Cut
-Love & Mercy: The Brian Wilson Sessions

All, coincidently, edited by @TM2YC . I mean, seriously! What a body of work. No need to ever watch the original versions of any of those films again!

-Skyfall: Reborn and Casino Royale: The Big Picture by @Problem Eliminator would definitely fit into this category for me too.
-007: The Series by @DigModiFicaTion
-SPECTRE: The LS Cut by @LastSurvivor
-The Shadow Knows by @lapis molari
-Dune: Deluxe Edition and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Recut by @15MaF
-And most recently, The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Edits by @Stromboli Bones

Nope, never have to sit through the originals ever again.

Which reminds me, now that I can leave reviews, I need to leave a nice review for all of these soon.

I agree with you regarding the quality of those edits, at least the ones that I have seen. I also concur with you regarding the quality of the body of work produced by @TM2YC. Their Blade Runner edit is definitive for me. It's my favorite version of my third favorite movie of all time. I likely have every Blade Runner official release and edit created and shared, and theirs tops them all. Speaking of Hobbit edits...have you watched the ones created by @TM2YC or @Q2?

@15MaF Dune edit certainly gives @spicediver a run for their acclaim. However, their Vanishing Point edit is also incredible.

Those are very good editors you mention. The Coaxium Heist by @DigModiFicaTion defined Solo for me.

I think every edit that @Last Survivor has produced probably replaces the original for me. Night of Samhain is already mentioned as one of my top ten. Definitely, my favorite fan mix of that genre.

Now there's Child's Play by @Dwight Fry. I never thought I would even want to see an edit or an original of that movie but he redefined that movie completely.

If you want to be amazed at an edit that is all about ingenious narrative structure, you must watch SplitUnbreakableGlass by @Wraith. I won't even say why because I don't want to spoil it for you.

You left out a few editors whom I would consider definitive as my list indicates. Like @L8wrtr and @spence, but it is very subjective, isn't it?

I think a lot of people will feel that way about @Stromboli Bones's Hobbit edit. I think it's an almost perfect edit presented in the ideal way to watch it. As much as I really like some of the other Hobbit edits, that's very hard to beat.

Speaking of Hobbit edits...have you watched the ones created by TM2YC or Q2?
No, not yet. I just learned this week that the Hobbit was actually a good movie series. So, I need to check those out.

Now there's Child's Play by Dwight Fry. I never thought I would even want to see an edit or an original of that movie but he redefined that movie completely.
That one is on my list. I have it. Just waiting for an opportunity to watch it.

I absolutely did and it pains me. So many good edits. So many great editors. My apologies to those I forgot to mention.
