Can anyone make out the number in this movie (2 minutes 5 secs into the video):

It's one of those movies that shows up on filmratings but without the freaking number.

That film is #22678, filling empty space.

New titles for this week.

53071 The Space Between
53125 Jolt
53137 Sing 2
53139 The House Next Door
53140 Siberia
53142 Seaper Powers The Movie
53146 Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street
53147 The Paper Tigers

Too many small bulletins (9 titles or less) this year... The average is currently 8.67 titles per week. With 39 weeks remaining for this year, to beat the 2020 record, an average of 10.08 titles per week or more is needed.

Is it me or are the "empty gaps left behind" getting bigger and wider with each new bulletin?

Looking at my list, there are 42 empty slots between 53001 and 53147, the biggest number rated this week.

Practically one third of the numbers in the newest thousand is unknown so far.

Of course, most of them will be filled in upcoming weeks, but some of them will remain un-revealed for ever, like so many others before since 1968, so unless we stumble upon them on endcrawls, we'll never know them...

This is what I'm thinking. The smaller or low-numbered bulletins may leave the list more empty spaces for some reason. As I observed, in the first 12 weeks of the year, 104 were rated, about 23.39% less than the previous year, which is 134. If the numbers were about the same as the previous year, the empty spaces would've been fewer.

I've never understood why there even are any gaps. Why are films being assigned numbers at random? Shouldn't the numbers assigned each week be consecutive? It makes no sense to me.

I think that during the process of approval/rating, the numbers were first assigned to films before their actual approval. Assigning numbers were done at random for over 86 years.

Speaking of indefinite unrevealed numbers, in modern times, there are about 1,500 missed out numbers. The only way is to find these, as we know, is to find through the closing credits of some NR films, just like what we did even long before the numbers went public in the later half of 2015, but both rated and NR.

I scanned through dozens of NR films, and only five missing numbers were discovered.

40909 The Onion Movie
43779 Garfield Gets Real
44605 Che: Part One
44606 Che: Part Two
49537 The Exorcism of Molly Hartley

EDIT: There is a correction.

22404 They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (instead of 22402 which was taken by Mirror of Venus)

New titles for this week.

53098 No Sudden Move
53141 Witnesses
53151 Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two
53152 Butter
53153 Triumph
53154 Smelliville
53157 Ace & The Christmas Miracle
53158 The Forever Purge
53159 Port Authority

For me, 12 titles is enough to fill empty spaces. As I observed, there is a whopping 45 empty spaces in the 53000s. The more the smaller bulletins, the emptier the spaces in the list.

In the last 3 weeks of the previous year, the rating system was improved, which were consisted of 13-15 titles. If that's the case, the 2661st bulletin was the last one before all things went bad.

New titles for this week.

52436 Holler
52793 Black Widow (well, that film was delayed several times because of that silly pandemic)
53019 The Tomorrow War
53076 Limbo
53122 Audible
53161 Dry
53162 The Djinn
53163 The Ape Star

Now sits at a total of 121 films, with an average of a dooming 8.64 films/week, the lowest in nearly four decades.
If all the independent/minor distributors were excluded from the rating system and only major ones remaining, the expected overall yearly count would be less than 200.

If they keep releasing small weekly bulletins, they should've focused on correcting mistakes/resolving problems, which consisted of simple errors, omissions and some discrepancies on film numbers which attributed to blank spaces on the list. Lol.

Better late than never issued this week. In addition, I discovered a film with missing numbers:

23443 Steel Arena

Bad news: Only 4 new numbers for this week.

53109 Die In A Gunfight
53186 Show Me The Father
53188 Black Easter
53189 MEHAMOOD

This week, the bulletin is so super small, which is so painful to my eyes. Last year, only 3. The more the small bulletins issued, the more the likelihood that there'll be another significant decrease for 2021. Better luck next week...

EDIT: At least I discovered a correction.

24423 Aaron Loves Angela (instead of possible erroneous 23778-A on FilmRatings)

Last week, it was super small. Now, it's about the same old story in quantity.

52634 Vivo
53136 Gunpowder Milkshake
53185 Disciples
53201 Notorious Nick
53202 Jockey
53203 Habit

In the previous two weeks, they released the almost supersized bulletin that contains 17 titles. While in recent weeks, they issued the small ones to lower the average number of weekly new titles (now back to an average of 8 per week). That sounds like 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Is this an insane joke in terms of quantity and average?

At least I discovered some NR films with numbers, all of these are in the 50000s series.

51501 Galveston
51722 Plus One
52369 The Beach House
52413 The Postcard Killings

52945 Mother/Android

53144 Long Story Short
53190 Night Of The Animated Dead

53215 Don't Breathe 2
53217 Hero Mode
53220 Secret Agent Dingledorf And His Trusty Dog Splat
53221 The Hidden Life Of Trees
53222 Life After (short)
53225 Stillwater
53226 The Estate

New titles for this week.

52803 Infinite
53165 The Tragedy Of Macbeth
53167 How It Ends
53228 Jurassic Hunt
53230 Coda
53232 Ailey
53233 The Birthday Cake

Glad that this week is not a one-paged bulletin, and the quantity is still not enough. I hope the annual count will hit 500 or more films before the last weekly bulletin on 12/22.

52808 The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard
52915 13 Minutes
53064 Space Jam: A New Legacy
53112 Siege At Rhyker's Station
53235 Twist

It's official: The Protege is assigned #53,000.

The interesting part is that these two of three Fear Street films assigned two numbers: 52388 (part I) and 52389 (part II). If assigned in this sequence, then the third one will most likely be assigned #52390.

Anyway, after days of struggling, I discovered some NR films:

32521 When Pigs Fly
36267 Shergar
41184 Tickets
43325 Watching the Detectives
48487 Invasion Roswell
48880 The Rewrite
