i thought i was only supposed to put description in this thread not a review?i thought with the thread being called new shows it was just to alert people of new shows currently being released online and that it would be reviewed in a dvd/bluray new release/review thread

I see you've met gazza.

^^um is that bad? i dont know how to take that?did i do something wrong?
These threads evolved haphazardly, without hard and fast rules. "Random Movie Thoughts" used to be a thread for movie reviews as well as... well, random thoughts, until Frink (IIRC) objected, and now we have "A Few Reviews", but also "2017 Movies", and we have a "Random TV Show Thoughts" as well as this "New Shows" thread. Like Hawkeye said, None of This Makes Sense.

That said, if you read through this thread, you'll find that straight-up descriptions of shows without reviews or even commentary ("I am/am not excited for this for [x] reasons") is pretty much non-existent. Pretty much all threads on this board, with the arguable exception of the "What are you listening to at the moment", contain a measure of commentary by default. Bottom line, IMHO, is that if you have time to post about a thing, you have time to make at least some substantive comment about the thing, even if said comment is as minimal as "hey, this really interesting, but it hasn't aired in my country yet", or "I've been watching this show, and am not sure if I'll continue; could go either way for [x] or [y] reason." A handy rule of thumb, for me, is "is my latest post noteworthy or interesting enough to earn the clicks, new tabs, and time spent by fellow posters reading it, as well as sending it to the top of the recent posts pile?" Cool
Ok technically not brand new shows but I'm new to them so close enough and they are fairly new to Netflix

I'm a few episodes into the first season of 'The Crown' on Netflix and it's a fascinating watch, the attention to detail is wonderful and as for John Lithgow as Winston Churchill, while I wouldn't say he is underrated he is fantastic in this a very versatile actor I will never tire of seeing. Everyone is really well cast in it though.  I really didn't know much about George VI before this other than whats covered in 'The Kings Speech' and Jared Harris brings the role to life (albeit not for long) wonderfully too.

Black Mirror back on Netflix today! theres one or two lesser episodes in the first 3 seasons but really high quality stuff, will be viewing tonight for sure.

Devilman Crybaby
Akira Fudo is informed by his best friend Ryou Asuka that the demons will revive and reclaim the world from the humans. As the humans do not stand a chance against the supernatural power of the demons, Ryou suggests fusing with a demon. Akira becomes Devilman, with the power of a demon and the heart of a human.

The director of this has gone for a more of a "cowboy bebop" look and while there is gore galore the screen goes either black or red with large splashes of yellow directly over the screen whenever a demon or human is killed through the series .there is sex and nudity almost thrown at the viewer every 5-10 minutes and i think the series would have been a lot better if would have been toned down.and for some reason in this incarnation of devilman they have almost copied the story of the first 5 episodes from the devilman manga(the birth, the devilbird)and the last 5 episodes have a new storyline .also this version devilman when he is about to kill a demon cries like what the character of "crying man" manga also did.

overall its worth a watch but for me i will still hold devilman the birth/the devilbird to be my goto devilman experience.
Watched Hang the DJ last night, the highest rated episode on IMDB of the new season of the Black Mirror.  Have to say it was excellent, as Steven Moffat said awhile back TV is really handing cinema its own arse these days..
I don't think we will get this here in Canuckland but I really am curious.... is Johnny the hero this time around and Daniel is the jerk?  Tongue
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that it probably sucks. Not an all-out-over-the-ramparts level of suck, but there will be suck.
Just started the second season of American Crime Story: Versace, not too familar with the details of this one unlike the OJ season which was excellent. Two episodes in and its definitely interesting,  it feels like Ricky Martin might be the weak link performance wise this time much like Cuba Gooding was last season.  Hopefully  I can resist looking up what really happened on wikipedia until the end of the season..

this looks to me as if they are aiming this series towards a younger audience because it looks like the same design choices of teen titans go
