Absolutely terrific choice. The idea of the "counting down to 12th Doctor Who" programme was bloody awful (I mean, do we really have to drag Doctor Who to such lows as this), but the choice of Capaldi is fantastic.
I have not felt this excited about something on Doctor Who since I began watching it. Such a good choice. Now, we'll see how many people complain about a) Malcolm Tucker playing the Doctor and b) the fact that Capaldi was already on Doctor Who (season four episode "The Fires of Pompeii") and season 3 of Torchwood.
Just going to leave this here....Big Grin
It would be great if the Doctor used more adult language.
I'm not terribly familiar with Peter Capaldi's work, but I'm excited nonetheless.
I didn't know we had a Doctor Who thread!
Anyway I just found this. A little old, but still funny:
Glad you found us, g1!

I don't know what to make of that reaction. The title says "Fake," but then the girl doesn't seem to be faking it, and the comments below are all treating the reaction like it's real.

Anyway, no sooner was the announcement made than fan editors got to work--which is fantastic. Smile Here's what the Peter Capaldi opening would look like if it was made in the 1970s during the Tom Baker days:

50th anniversary titled confirmed: "Day of The Doctor" which will be 75 minutes in length
Yep! Lots of news coming out about what will air on that day. (How much of it will air on BBC America is still unknown, but there are lots of goodies for U.K. viewers!)

Here's also a look at the promo poster, along with explanations of some of the things seen in the picture, including some potentially spoilerific details. (You've been warned!) Now I'm even more excited!
