Oh, and Big Bang Theory is mildly amusing, borderline suck.

Based on your favorite comedy shows I can see why you don't like The Big Bang Theory. You have a different sense of what you find amusing. I get that. I never thought South Park was funny. I tried and tried to like it because all of my friends did. I did, however, find Beavis and Butthead amusing at one point. I still like King of The Hill. Never cared for The Simpson's. Courage The Cowardly Dog is still the funniest in my opinion. Cow and Chicken had its moments.

I get your preference in comedy. I do agree with almost all of your drama list.
These are not ranked, just top of the head list of the best.

My top ten for recent live action, anything older would either be substantially different from the rest (Twilight Zone) or would be nostalgia based (Pete and Pete), maybe I'll do lists for those sometime later but for now:

  1. The Office
  2. Parks and Rec
  3. 30 Rock
  4. Community
  5. Doctor Who
  6. Orphan Black
  7. Black Mirror
  8. Legion
  9. Stranger Things
  10. Game of Thrones

And top ten animated:
  1. Batman the Animated Series
  2. Futurama
  3. Rick and Morty
  4. Rocko's Modern Life
  5. Dexter's Laboratory
  6. The Simpsons (some)
  7. King of the Hill
  8. New Voltron/She-Ra
  9. The Maxx
  10. Venture Bros

Nice list. Many of those will be on mine.
Wow how could I overlook Batman TAS? Shame on me.
I'll be honest, I never watched much Batman TAS. I've never had an interest in watching it. I'm interested in possibly going back and watching Superman, Batman Beyond, and Justice League, but something about Batman doesn't entice me as much as it should. This is coming from a Batman fan (at least I think I'm one of those?). I do like The Batman though, and it has possibly my favorite Joker design.
My favorite western animated shows, whether I finished them or not, in no particular order:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law
RWBY (anime style, but fully made in NA)
Captain N the Game Master (it's hilarious)
Toxic Crusaders (went back to watch this recently, it's genuinely funny, and has way more heart than it should)
Steven Universe
The Batman
Clerks the Animated Series
Double Dragon (the theme song to that stupid cartoon is enough reason for it to be on my list)
The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

I'm probably missing a bunch, but whatever.

Live action shows:

Legion (only watched season 1 so far)
Lucifer (halfway through season 2)
Breaking Bad (finished, currently rewatching, at season 3)
The Office US (only on season 5)
And I can't remember if I've watched a significant amount of any others.
Okay. I think I have narrowed it down to five lists of about ten each.

My opinion of which shows should be considered in top ten in three categories. All three will cross over to the final two lists. Not really in order. But kind of. I guess the top three in all categories are accurate.

Drama:

1. The X-Files (1-8)
2. Twin Peaks
3. Twilight Zone (original)
4. Game of Thrones
5. Breaking Bad
6. Deadwood
7. Justified
8. The Closer
9. Cold Case
10. Hannibal
11. Bates Motel
12. The Black Mirror

Comedy:

1. The Big Bang Theory
2. Shameless
3. The Office
4. The United States of Tara
5. All in The Family
6. Welcome Back Kotter
7. Happy Days
8. Three's Company
9. Sanford and Son
10. The Dukes of Hazzard
11. Good Times
12. Laverne & Shirley

Animation:

1. Courage The Cowardly Dog (stupid dog...you made me look bad!)
2. King of The Hill
3. Anamaniacs (especially The Goodfeathers-Gotta love The Godpigeon).
4. Looney Toons (especially Elmer Fudd-my stepfather for sure!)
5. Scooby Doo (The original without Scrappy)
6. Beavis & Butthead (we're gonna score!)
7. The Flintstones (yabba dabba doo!)
8. Batman The Animated Series
9. He-Man and The Masters of The Universe (I have the power!)
10. Pinky & The Brain (we're going to take over the world)
11. The Justice League
12. Hong Kong Phooey

Guilty Pleasure:

Shows that satisfy my mind or

1. Twin Peaks
2. The X-Files (1-8)
3. Cold Case
4. The Closer
5. Deadwood
6. Justified
7. Star Trek (the first three series)

Shows that just give me warm fuzzies in my belly

1. The Dukes of Hazzard
2. The Big Bang Theory
3. The Office
4. Three's Company
5. Welcome Back Kotter
6. Sanford and Son
7. Courage The Cowardly Dog

Top shows that I can definitely live without:

1. South Park
2. The Simpson's
3. Rick and Morty
4. Futurama
5. Bobs Burgers
6. The Family Guy
7. American Dad
8. Seinfeld
9. Almost everything on Cartoon Network recently.
10. American Horror Story ( except seasons 1, 2 and 5)
11. Our Cartoon President
12. Everything that I forgot to mention but eventually will.

Check out the episode Heart of Ice, even if you see nothing else. Or watch the movie Mask of the Phantasm, it's not much more than an hour. Both will give you an idea of the show at its best and what people remember.

But that entire universe almost made my list, it just would have been more than half the list
DC good:
  1. Batman The Animated Series
  2. Batman: Mask off the Phantasm (theatrical film)
  3. Batman: Sub-Zero (tv movie)
  4. Superman The Animated Series
  5. The New Batman Adventures
  6. Batman Beyond
  7. Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (tv movie)
  8. Justice League
  9. Justice League Unlimited

Some other shows fit into the continuity and could potentially be number ten, like Static Shock and the Batman Beyond spin-off Project Zeta, but I never paid much attention to those, they were geared toward a younger audience. Teen Titans came out close after and some think it is part of the continuity but I never watched that either, again it was geared more toward a younger audience.
I've seen Mask of the Phantasm. I don't dislike it by any means, but I don't love it as others do. I'll check out Heart of Ice, I've heard plenty about how good it is.

Also, Teen Titans isn't part of the same universe, it's its own thing, from what I've read up on at least.

Now, Batman Beyond Return of the Joker is just amazing, though I haven't seen it since I was young.

  1. The Simpsons (Seasons 1-9)
  2. Batman: The Animated Series
  3. Popular Mechanics for Kids (a childhood favourite; sue me)
  4. The Twilight Zone (original series)
  5. Breaking Bad
  6. Babylon 5
  7. Are You Afraid of the Dark? (another childhood favourite; sue me again)
  8. Twin Peaks
  9. Mystery Science Theater 3000
  10. The X-Files (Seasons 1-8)
