I figured it might be a good way to find quality content. if you share a channel, please tell us why. Please don't just post a bunch of videos, it could become overwhelming and this topic is intended to be for us to tell each other WHY to check out a channel. Also, please try to keep it brief so as not to overwhelm us :)
And I shouldn't need to say it but this is not for self promotion, do not list your own channel.

PLEASE DO NOT POST VIDEOS.

Some that come to mind to start off with.

Corridor Crew
These guys are really fun and do special effects based stuff for the most part. They try different cutting edge technologies like ai, drones, mocap, etc. They have done some pretty hilarious fan made films such as Avetar 2.

Jeremy Jahns
A reviewer of films, I really enjoy his no nonsense approach, he keeps it short and sweet and I share his views on many things.

NileRed
This guy does chemistry, and just tries to make weird stuff through weird processes. for example, he once made grape juice from rubber gloves. he looks at the processes that can be used to get the particular chemicals that make up another substance and just experiments. the videos are quite long but are interesting.

I think this handful are my top picks, they're all very good at their particular niche:

https://www.youtube.com/@IAmKawehi - music/beatboxing, she does some original music and some covers.

https://www.youtube.com/@StrangeParts - he does engineering stuff like disassembling/modding iphones, or touring factories in China

https://www.youtube.com/@choibites - chef/cooking, she hasn't updated in a while but has quite a few good videos in her channel

https://www.youtube.com/@smartereveryday - he explores sciency stuff of all flavors from slow motion impact videos and the physics behind them, to a very detailed tour of the Kodak film factory or a US nuclear submarine in the arctic.

https://www.youtube.com/@MichelleKhare - she tries out a variety of jobs in an entertaining way, if you try a video I'd recommend one of the more physical ones since those are her best imo - Lifeguard, Paramedic, etc.

Well my kids’ channel is probably my most viewed. 🤣

Adventurous Twins

Why I like:
They’re my kids.

But seriously, I’m not a fan editor so I don’t really have a ton that would be relevant here.

I think most here are probably familiar with Patrick (H) Willems. If not, you should be.

Why I like:
He breaks down media and what makes it work (or not work). I generally agree with his takes.
Edit: he also does a lot of skitty stuff that I’m not really a fan of, but he makes it easy to skip that stuff if you’re like me.

I like In The Mix for music production and MusicTechHelpGuy when I get stuck.

Why I like:
I like making music but I’m generally terrible at the production side of things, especially the tech.

Honestly everything else I watch probably wouldn’t be of interest to folks here. I spend a lot of time blocking channels that seem to only want to shout hate as loudly as possible.

Why? :)
What is it that he does and what do you enjoy about the videos?

edit: post was edited so this is obsolete now, can it be deleted and the reply to it? is that ok?

I really like this one, it showcases various societal issues and how various aspects of society works.
It reminds me of two other channels I watch, Peter Santenello who travels across America, exploring different areas and talking to the locals about hot topics, and Sabbatical who travels to different countries and does much the same thing.
